Adobe CS5 Features Announced!

cs5

Today’s the day that Adobe announced the new features in their very popular Create Suite series. And I must say there are a few goodies that I’ve been much anticipating! I’ll highlite a few that stand out to me:

Flash Professional CS5

Enhanced ActionScript editor

The ASE will now give code hints for custom classes and methods! If you’re familiar with the Flex, Eclipse, or FDT IDE’s you’ll know how awesome this is.

Flash Builder Integration

You’ll be able to create an FLA with components and MovieClips with in then use Flash Builder as as your primary ActionScript editor for Flash Professional projects. This allows for a more agile development process. Why? Because you can leverage the versioning functionality of Flash Builder with you Flash project allowing you to have more developers work on a project w/o everyone mucking up the FLA. The FLA Becomes a library of sorts and can be used to compile the final project without having each developer add anything to the FLA.

XML-based FLA Source Files

Manage and modify projects using source control systems and collaborate on files more easily. This further improves the agility of Flash when working with a group.

Wide Content Distribution

Code once, compile many! One code base that compiles to multiple platforms.

Dreamweaver CS5

Site-specific Code Hinting

Benefit from code hinting on nonstandard files and directories in Dreamweaver. This is really cool! Dreamweaver will be able to give code hints on some of the most widespread CMS API’s like WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.

Subversion support

Manage site files more effectively in collaborative, version-controlled environments with enhanced support for Subversion® software.

Photoshop CS5

Pretty much every new feature in Photoshop CS5 is note worthy, so head on over to the adobe site for the run down.
