You can see so much about a person in their eyes. Happiness, sadness, thoughtfulness, it all shows in your eyes. Many people believe when shooting you need to capture the whole face. Why not just a part of it? Everyone knows what a face looks like. Why not capture the part you’re inspired by at that moment?

Some of my fondest memories from childhood include following my grandfather around asking a million questions about his camera. When I was 10, he built a darkroom in his basement, and I was hooked. I’d spend weekends there just watching him work and develop photos. Since the moment I saw an image appearing on the paper I knew photography would be a part of my life.
After his passing, my grandmother gave me his Canon SLR. I used that camera on a daily basis as long as I had film. It took countless yearbook photos and then got tucked away when I went off to College and it was replaced with a point and shoot. That camera still sits on my shelf as a reminder of my roots…
Fastforward 10 years to today. I’ve climbed the corporate ladder, I’ve married an amazing man, and I have two brilliant and beautiful little girls. Yet there’s always been this empty place in my heart longing to capture those special moments in life. I’ve gone through numerous digital cameras and finally got a Canon DSLR. If I thought I was hooked before, I KNOW I am now!
